Personal Help for Writers,
Authors, and Self-publishers

NEED ANSWERS to your writing or self-publishing questions? Need a plan, a key connection, or encouragement to make your writing dream come true? Set up an inexpensive telephone chat with Barbara Brabec. She's “been there, done that” and wants to help you “get there and do that” too.

Having someone to talk to who has done what you're trying to do can make all the difference between success and failure.

Let me Help You Achieve Your Goals

Writing a Book: In even a short telephone consult, you will quickly benefit by getting answers to any questions you have about writing a better book—or simply how to get started on your first book. (Articles in the Writing/Publishing archives offer encouragement and ideas for what you might want to write about, and why.) When you tell me about the book you’re dreaming about or working on now, we’ll discuss your specific needs and go from there.

Preparing the Book Manuscript Files: When your book is written and you’re ready to focus on the publishing process, I can help you save money as you turn your raw manuscript into files needed by a book publisher. Perhaps you would benefit from a manuscript critique (which could lower your editing and publishing costs). Of course you’ll need copy editing and a book cover; then someone to design and typeset your print book and format an eBook edition, if desired. Lots of steps here. But don’t worry; I can refer you to affordable freelance service providers in my network who specialize in these things.

Picking the Right Book Publishing Company: When you’re ready to publish a print or eBook edition, you must select the book publisher/s you want to work with (several options here). But I’ve made it easy for you to decide. Start by reading my article, “What Authors Need to Know before Self-Publishing.”.
